Qantaslink offers year-round scheduled services to Lord Howe Island. Flight time is under two hours, with flights departing Sydney on every day and Brisbane on weekends.
A weekly service to the Island direct from Coffs Harbour will also be available in season to 28 May, 2005.
Moreover, there are convenient international, interstate and intrastate connections when you travel through the major passenger terminals at Sydney or Brisbane.
You’ll fly to Lord Howe Island in a wide-bodied, pressurised Dash 8 aircraft, carrying 32 passengers and three crew. Sit back and relax with flight attendant cabin service, inflight refreshments and an on-board rest room. Dash 8 aircraft have been operating to Lord Howe Island since 1991, and have high performance STOL (Short Take-off and Landing) capabilities. They are one of the few commercial aircraft in Australia capable of landing on the Island’s picturesque but short airstrip.
14kg per person of checked baggage and 4kg of carry-on baggage is the approved allowance for Lord Howe Island flights. Excess charges apply where baggage exceeds Qantas Domestic limits. However, passengers connecting from international flights are permitted checked baggage at their international allowance.
