Operated by fourth and fifth generation islanders and direct descendants of the original settler on Lord Howe, Nathan Chase Thompson, Blue Lagoon offers all the holiday comforts you would ever want, with modern apartments, tennis court, restaurant and close access to all island facilities.
Blue Lagoon is centrally located on two hectares of lush subtropical level ground just 200 metres from the lagoon on the western side of the Island and 500 metres from Ned’s Beach on the eastern side. A general store is located on the property, with post office and other facilities nearby.
Blue Lagoon has a true subtropical feeling, featuring apartments with wide balconies, palm trees and other native vegetation dotted throughout the grounds.
At Blue Lagoon Lodge all rooms offer the comforts that make a holiday special, such as queen size beds, microwave oven, electric frypan, cookware and all utensils including cutlery, toaster, kettle, crockery, hairdryer, radio, TV, ceiling fans, tea and coffee facilities, fridge, shower and ensuite toilet.
Linen, bath and beach towels are provided. A laundry that has all the usual facilities is centrally located on the property. Serviced rooms are available on request (additional tariff).
Shores Restaurant at Blue Lagoon is open two nights per week for its now famous Fish Fry Buffet. Featuring freshly caught fish, several choices of salads and desserts
Blue Lagoon provides free nightly transport to any of the Island’s several restaurants.
For the more energetic, Blue Lagoon’s all-weather tennis court is available - balls and racquets are supplied at no charge to our guests. Pool and table tennis tables are available in our spacious games room. Mountain bikes are available for hire on the property. We are able to organise all activities on the Island, including guided walks to the summit of Mt Gower, glass bottom boat trips, picnics and round island cruises. | |
